A thread lift is a treatment in which PDO sutures are used to create a faint but noticeable “lift” in the skin. Rather than medically removing the patient’s loose facial skin, the cosmetic surgeon simply suspends it by stitching up areas of it.
This has the effect of slightly drawing the skin back, lifting and tightening the face. Threads battle ageing in another method, in addition to elevating the skin, by inducing the body’s “healing response” and causing the body to direct significant surges of collagen to treated areas.
This is significant since collagen is essential in the ageing process.
